We have entered a new year, and in the King's New Year's speech, he spoke about the importance of strong communities. We at Nordhusene couldn't agree more! Last year, together with our residents, we placed extra focus on well-being and unity in our properties around the country. We want to help create the framework for a good community among those who live here.
Through communities, we create relationships that provide security and improve quality of life. It matters to be part of something bigger—and to know that there are people waiting for us to show up.
We have seen how knitting clubs, food clubs, walking groups, and board game cafés are sprouting up. Throughout the year, we have organized Halloween events, celebrated Christmas, and inaugurated playgrounds, community centers, and activity centers. It has been a pleasure to see how these communities are developing and bringing joy to everyday life.
This year, we will be visiting the properties even more often and engaging in dialogue with residents about developing ideas and starting communities – from party and activity committees to smaller groups with common interests. We will continue to provide both financial and practical support, so that residents can apply for funding for everything from small events and clubs to larger events such as summer parties and street parties.
As the King said in his New Year's speech: "Volunteering is an example of humanity... It makes sense for all parties, both for her who gives her time and for him who receives it."
And as the Prime Minister pointed out: "When we meet across generations and backgrounds, we break the chains of loneliness and create friendships for life." That is exactly what we want to support at Nordhusene.
